Kevin's Birthday Cruise
Kevin turned the big 3-0 on December 1, and we went on a Southern Caribbean cruise to celebrate. Both sets of parents and our friend Mike joined us for the trip and to celebrate Kevin's birthday. The ports were fun - here's what we did.
San Juan - We went to San Juan a day early and visited the fort El Morro. It's quite an amazing structure and you get great ocean views there too. We walked around town and did a little shopping in the outlet area of Old San Juan too. Between the cruise returning to San Juan and the ride to the airport, we stopped at the Bacardi rum distillery. The tour was pretty crappy and you didn't see anything real, but they made up for it by giving us rum drinks at the end.
Here we are at El Morro with the beautiful ocean and sky in the back.
St. Thomas - We took an island tour to Blackbeard's Castle, downtown, and Megan's Bay beach. Blackbeard's Castle has the coolest pool ever on top of the hill and the beach was gorgeous. I

want to go back to St. Thomas!
My favorite pool at Blackbeard's Castle.
Us on Megan's Bay beach. We loved it here!
St. Maarten - Here we went to the beach for the day at Orient beach. This was Kevin's actual birthday-day too, so he was excited to spend it relaxing. The waves were crazy and we played in the ocean for a long time!

Antigua - We took a catamaran and snorkel trip at this port. This was our first time snorkeling from a boat, and I admit I was nervous. But I'm glad we did this trip because I LOVED it! We stopped at Runaway Bay beach on the way back, and they fed us tons of rum punch and taught us caribbean line dances. Kev and I are lucky we found the boat on the way back...
All of us at Runaway Bay beach.
St. Lucia - Surprisingly, this was my least favorite port even though it was the most anticipated. We took an excursion that was a rainforest hike to a waterfall, but it was very lame. There were too many people on the tour, and you could hardly enjoy the beauty and nature in that atmosphere.
Barbados - This was one of the best excursions because we went caving! And not just walking in a cave either. We wore our helmets and head lamps, climbed down a steep slope with a rope into the caves, and hiked/crawled/swam our way around. It was fantastic!
Overall, what a great trip!
